Question 1

Do younger submitters need a parent or guardian?

Accepted Answer

A parent or guardian should be involved where required by the rules that apply to you. VeriPix does not verify a submitter’s age or consent.

Question 2

What are the badge offers?

Accepted Answer

Your first badge is free once per account, with no card or payment step. After that, one badge credit costs $1.99, a pack of 5 credits costs $4.99, and a pack of 15 credits costs $9.99.

Question 3

How do badge credits work?

Accepted Answer

Each issued badge after your free first badge uses exactly one credit. Credits never expire, and any credit works with any VeriPix style universe. Credits are added only after a purchase is confirmed.

Question 4

What do I need to issue one badge?

Accepted Answer

Sign in and submit one JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP image no larger than 20 MB. VeriPix fingerprints the file in your browser and confirms that fingerprint on the server. Your first badge uses the free account entitlement; each later badge uses one credit.

Question 5

When is a badge issued?

Accepted Answer

Your first badge can be issued without a payment step. Later badges require one available credit. A badge becomes publicly verifiable after its record has been issued and signed.

Question 6

How can I check a VPX Badge ID?

Accepted Answer

Use the public lookup on the VPX API docs page at /developers for a general check. The page includes request and response details and a live lookup. It calls the unauthenticated GET /api/badges/{badgeId} endpoint. If you already have an issued VPX ID, its public detail page is /verify/[vpxId].

Question 7

What information is public?

Accepted Answer

The public verification record includes the VPX ID, registered image URL, full 64-character SHA-256 fingerprint, registration timestamp, issuance status, current status and its explanation, and this fixed disclaimer: “Registration records evidence; it does not prove ownership or authorship.” Account details, payment information, storage keys, and upload metadata are not part of the public response.

Question 8

What do active, revoked, and corrected mean?

Accepted Answer

Active means the badge is currently valid. Revoked means it is no longer valid. Corrected means the displayed evidence is the current public evidence. A status describes the current record; it does not state why a change was made.

Question 9

What does the SHA-256 fingerprint identify?

Accepted Answer

The full SHA-256 fingerprint is calculated from the submitted file bytes. It can help compare an exact file with the registered image; editing or re-exporting a file can change its fingerprint.

Question 10

Does registration prove ownership or authorship?

Accepted Answer

No. Registration records that a particular image was submitted at a particular time. It does not independently establish ownership, authorship, originality, copyright, or authority to use the image.
